About 20 seconds after learning that-
so many fellow Americans voted for
so many candidates representing
so many anti-biblical policies my heart SANK thinking about my kids
and my grandkids.
Did yours?
Did you feel yourself spiraling down, wondering just how hard things might actually get?
Did you feel sad? mad?
hopeless, even?
Did you take to social media and get further depressed?
And if you posted anything remotely biblical, were you called all sorts of names as I was on this page yesterday😳 (and will probably be again today)?
Did you feel like an alien and a stranger as never before (1 Pet 2:11)?
But then, did you remember God told us we would feel this way and days like this would come before His return?
And as you thought about it all, did you reason that a just God might allow our country, that has ran so far from Him, to reap what we’ve sewn?
Maybe, He’s coming back soon. Maybe, He will bring revival. Let’s not give up praying for that and the lost we know and love!
But still, do you find yourself wondering why these difficult times have to come when YOUR kids and YOUR grandkids will be impacted?
Do you long to scoop up all those you love and just run away? But where would you go?
And what if, a sovereign God might have chosen for your family to be right where you are for such a time as THIS?
That same God said He would NEVER leave or forsake His children (Heb 13:5)❤️
Shouldn’t all of this cause us to cling tighter to Jesus and be more determined than ever to deliberately teach our children and grandchildren of this and other biblical truths?
Truths they can stand on long after we are gone!
Oh friend, our Lord will indeed equip us and our children, for ALL He has called us to do in this hard world full of lost people (Heb 13:21)!
Let’s keep our eyes on Him and let’s remember, as we deal with those who disagree with us, call us names and even wish us harm, that we were once lost too, and some of them may be as well.
Our Lord said, “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you,” (Matt 5:44)
Oh, may our Lord help us see this scary, crazy world around us more like a field ripe for the harvest! Let’s ask Him to give us His heart for every situation coming our way.
Let’s remember the light of Christ shines brightest in the darkest of days.
These are certainly dark days. They were dark long before this election and maybe we’ve just been too distracted to notice.
Perhaps, we have put hope in things not worthy of our hope.
Let’s ask the Lord to show us these things and tune our hearts instead to His will and His purpose—for our good and His glory.
