How do we “take heart” in this hard world?

Clearly there are lots of things to concern us about this world we are living in.

The latest opinion polls show everyone, in just about every demographic, seems to be stressed about the political and economic climate.

Stressed.

And for Christ followers, this anti-biblical culture is greatly adding to our concerns-especially for our kids and grandkids.

But what are we to do in days like these where trouble, turmoil, and trial seem to come at us from every facet of our society?

When there is just
SO MUCH
to WORRY about!

Well, first let’s remember God tells us in His Word that in this world we will indeed have trouble but we can TAKE HEART because He has overcome the world. (John 16:33)

But how do we “take heart”?

Like, how do we actually, practically “take heart”??

We “take heart” as we deliberately remember and put into practice the things God has told us in the Book He wrote.

Things like —

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”. (Heb 10:23-25)

Friends, GO to church!

Physically.
Go.
There.

There is powerful encouragement when we meet together.

Last night, I sat in Wednesday night Bible study and watched those around me open their Bibles and share about Jesus and this made my soul want to dance!

Dance!

I was reminded I am not alone and that there are so many others who love Jesus and His Word!

So MANY others love Jesus and believe His Word!

We also “take heart” as we keep doing the good works the Lord has called us to do!

And we don’t have to look too far for those good works! …Love your husband and your children! Keep working on strengthening your marriage (you better know the enemy would love to destroy it) and keep training your children and grandchildren up in biblical principles despite what this world says.

God has us here for such a time as this. He knows your kids are here too! 😉None of this has taken Him by surprise!

None of it!

And God will equip us for what He has called us to do as we keep seeking Him with all our hearts. (Heb 13:21)

As we do this, we will have hope, and we will be prepared to give an answer for this hope we have! (1 Pet 3:15)

THIS is how we are light to a world walking in darkness!

We just keep daily following the Savior! One day at a time. Day after day.

Jesus told us, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

So take heart! …Read the Bible. Pray. Meet with others. Love your husbands. Train your kids. Serve the hurting. Tell the lost. Walk in peace.

Then, get up and do it all again tomorrow….until one day, one glorious day our faith really will become sight! And all those worries will forever be no more! ❤️
