I’m praying throughout the day this Election Day. I’ll set my alarm to pray specifically at 6pm and hope you’ll join me and ask others to do the same.
I’m asking God to have mercy on this country. I’m asking Him for His will to be done and, of course, I believe one platform to be more closely aligned with a Biblical worldview. I’m asking Him to thwart cheating and every form of evil.
However, I’m also asking the Lord to do whatever it takes to best bring revival in our land.
But, do I really mean that?
Do you?
What if we all have to go through hard days for there to be real revival—for more lost to be found? Am I okay with that? Are you?
Let me be clear, I want the election to go the way of conservatives, and biblical values, and religious freedom. I voted that way and think others should too.
But there’s also a part of me (admittedly kind of shaking in her boots), that wants the Lord to do whatever it takes to help more to be saved and find the lasting peace that comes from loving God first.
And maybe that includes a Holy God shaking us to our core. If you’ve read your Bible, you know it would not be unlike Him to do that to save wandering, lost souls.
Perhaps, it is time for us to ask ourselves if we truly believe what we say we believe about this life not being all there is, and heaven and hell.
If eternity is really eternity, and God is truly God, have we been placing too much emphasis on our life here and caring too little for the cause of Christ?
Do we really care for the souls of others, to the point, that we would ask the Lord, to take us, as a nation, through whatever it takes to bring revival?
And if Heaven is as glorious as we say, and the Bible is as true as it is, don’t we know things will get harder on this temporary planet before the Lord comes back for us?
Should we really be shocked that what is right is called wrong and what’s wrong is called right, or should we feel even more confident that God’s Word is true and prophecies are being fulfilled before our eyes?
Yes, let’s stand for truth and do all we can to influence the public square to thwart evil, but let’s also wear out our knees asking the Lord to prepare us to point to Him no matter what comes.
Let’s daily put on our spiritual armor and tirelessly love the lost…whose time might be shorter than ever.
Do those we work with, and those we live by, know about the Savior we say we trust for every tomorrow?
Oh friend, as my son, Ben, has said often, “Why should we worry about all that is going on around us? Yes, we may lose our comforts, but others are in danger of losing their souls for eternity.”
Let’s keep our eye on the prize! Let’s ask the Lord to help us so others will know Him and give Him glory.
Let’s ask Him to help us be where He is working and let’s trust Him to use hard things for good for those who love Him and are called to His purpose.
And if you are His,
you are called to His purpose.
He is still on the throne.
Hallelujah!
And you are here
for such a time as this!
Who knows, our eyes may see the coming of the Lord, may our voices tell others of His goodness no matter how hard these days may get!
And may we rest knowing our Father really does have us no matter what the day may bring. ❤️
