I picked up my Bible.

Markets are crashing. There are rumors of wars. I picked up my Bible.
As I opened to my daily reading, I sighed. Oh, I’d really rather be in the Psalms or one of Paul’s letters… but my reading plan has me in the Old Testament-2 Chronicles 32 and 33.
But then, just like so many times before, God comforted my heart as I sought Him. Once again, He blessed my daily discipline to seek Him through His Word, in an orderly fashion, as my heart was reminded of truth.
I am deeply concerned for Israel —but God reminded me, through the Old Testament, that He is with His people.
How timely.
Not only that, as I read of those ancient kings and kingdoms it was again clear that there is blessing and protection for those who humble themselves, confess their sins, turn from their wicked ways and follow God.
And THAT should be my prayer and my hope for Israel, for our country, for our churches and families, and for my life.
THIS has not changed.
There is still blessing and protection for those who humble themselves, confess their sins, turn from their wicked ways and follow God. (2 Chiron 7:14)
This is where our hope comes from, and what we as Christians should be praying and seeking as the world around us becomes more and more chaotic.
The news is absolutely depressing, but we serve a changeless and all-powerful God.
Remind yourself of that.
Let’s ask Him to remind us again that He has us and can be trusted.
Let’s ask Him to help strengthen our shaking knees to stand firmly on His truth.
Let’s let our light shine so others will see our peace and be drawn to the Lord (Matt 5:16).
Let’s keep studying the Word and be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have! (1Pet 3:15)
Let’s keep meeting together, and encouraging one another, and all the more as the Day of His return approaches! (Heb 10:25)
Let’s truly live today like we believe what we say we believe!
For it’s all true!
God is doing what He said He will do.
And as we remember this, our hearts are encouraged and others may see Him in us.
Oh glory to Him!
