I’d like to sit here under my fall blanket, watching the flame from my cider-flavored candle burn, and forget about the crazy world out there.
But I can’t.
And I wonder if we understand what we are seeing— parents rights being threatened, gender roles being muddied, and “experts” and politicians promoting ridiculous things, are but parts of a coordinated effort to destroy the family…yes, the family.
Because family, specifically families who value biblical principles, is the last line of earthly defense against a government seeking to be god.
It’s about power and control, and the route to get this is fear that fools many to trade in their common sense and rights for some false sense of security.
We watched many willingly do this during the pandemic.
What’s more, we are a nation increasingly looking for hope and peace where it can never be found—we think we can abort our “problems” and “transition” to happiness.
All the while, many of our churches water down the truth and repeatedly fail miserably to stand on biblical principles.
We are losing our way as the enemy only turns up the guns.
Do we see it?
Are we alarmed?
In my “Bible-belt” hometown a drag queen show is planned at our local nature center. One performer (I will put photo below) will dress as Satan and dance around the “all ages welcome” audience. A friend, is trying desperately to spread the word and stop this, but few seem to want to get involved.

We are just all so busy. And, good grief, we don’t want to be canceled!
Friends, we need to soberly understand what is going on around us!
Our society is not only calling wrong things right and right things wrong, but squashing free speech and vilifying those who would speak truth so that we would no longer look to a Holy God.
To be sure, this war against the family, and those who hold to biblical truth, is a spiritual battle to keep captives from being set free.
There is one who has come to rob, kill and destroy those you love. (John 10:10)
Oh friends, may we not be ashamed of the gospel but proclaim it and teach our children to do the same!
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (Rom 1:16-17)
May we be serious about living by faith! And may we find courage to stand for truth and reverentially fear the One True God! (See Romans 1:18-32)
May we do so for those we love and for the glory of the Only One deserving of our hope, the anchor of our peace, our help in times of trouble, the King of Kings who will come again!
Will He find us faithful?
