The enemy would love for you to believe you are the only one whose faith has faltered.
But this is not biblical.
Throughout Scripture, God allows us to peak into the lives of some of the most faithful when they were the least faithful.
God allows us to see their trust waiver, as He knows there will be times our trust will waiver as well.
Listen to me, don’t let the enemy cause you to put faith in your own faith… because that’s not going to be enough.
There will be times when you will be faithless.
There will be times when you put too much confidence in yourself and things of this world, and you will get down when they let you down.
Though I’ve seen God do amazing, miracle-like things in my life…though He alone has carried me when everything else has failed me…
I’ve let my trust waiver.
I’ve placed too much hope in temporary things and circumstances while deep down knowing they were not worthy of such confidence.
My soul knows …There is no Rock like our God.
But like you, I’m still clothed in flesh.
Like the Apostle Paul, we’ve done what we do not want to do and not done what we want to do and been upset with ourselves.(ROM 7:19).
But, like David, we can remember AGAIN where our help always comes from, The Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth (Ps 121:1-2) that He has been our help and in the shadow of His wings we can still rejoice (Ps 63:6-7)
When our knees feel wobbly and we cannot see just how God will come through… there is a remedy for our faith failings—
Remember (once again) that God has not ever turned away the prayers of His children or His mercy from us (Ps 66:20)…. because of Who He is, not because of how perfect we’ve been!
Our merciful God is so very faithful to revive us again and again. (Ps 71:20)
Like so many of God’s children, it was and is the hard times that shake our faith that also help us to remember, once more, that GOD ALONE IS OUR ROCK (Ps 78:34-35)
I don’t like this flesh nature any more than you do and wish my heart were less prone to wander.
But I am so thankful for the Spirit who helps in our weaknesses and prays for us when we don’t even know what to pray (ROM 8:26).
The Apostle Paul who spoke of his faith struggles goes on to write in his last of letters that, “If we are faithless, He remains faithful. He cannot deny Himself” 2 Tim 2:13
Notice…he doesn’t say God can’t deny our unfaltering faith. No! God can’t deny HIMSELF.
Jesus stands in the gap for us always-being faithful even when we aren’t!
Nothing can separate us from the amazing, gracious, merciful love of Christ!
Oh no, we can’t put our faith in our own faithfulness!
My faith is in Him…His faithfulness—not my own.
Oh friend, let’s place our eyes on Him ( not ourselves or our temporary circumstances) but on Jesus-the author and perfecter of our faith! (Heb 12:2)
What a Savior!!!
