Who is safe in these scary days?

Breaking news scrolls across the TV screen- Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, says there is credible evidence of war crimes in Ukraine.

The White House is now said to be considering a ban on Russian oil imports.

Putin has been threatening the use of nuclear weapons if backed into a corner.

These are sad and scary times.

Just yesterday, I told myself I was overreacting when I had talked to my mom about stocking a fallout shelter.

Today, I’m not so sure.

I thought about what it would take to quickly move my frail 91 year-old father in the event of emergency. I thought about how quickly my kids could get to me. And what about all our pets?

The truth is, when we look at this scary world, most of us want to help everyone we know do whatever they can to be safe!

And friend, this world has been scary for more than a few weeks. There will come a day when it will be no more.

Unless the Lord comes first, we will all die. There will come a point for all of us when the door to safety, the opportunity for salvation, will come to an end.

I know, that I know, my salvation is secured because of the blood of Jesus Christ.

But the thing is, I also know not everyone I know and love has ran to the Only One Who Can Save.

Some think they have plenty of time. Some think they deserve to have their fun and go their own rebellious way. Some are just really distracted with their good life. Others aren’t sure they can believe in a God who has allowed them to walk through things they don’t like.

I’m sure many of you understand and see similar in those you love who don’t know Jesus.

But what I don’t understand is how we, who know the only Way to the Truth and Life, can just keep our mouths shut!

This scary world should assure us that no one is promised tomorrow.

Friend, if you believe what you say you believe about Jesus, pray for the Lord to give you the words and tell others about the HOPE found in Him.

Tell them today.
While there is still time.

Yes, the truth is, when we look at this scary world, most of us want to help everyone we know and love be safe!

Let’s tell them where lasting safety is found. His Name is Jesus. His arms are open. His Kingdom has no end!
