Daniel has become literally sick over what God has shown him will happen to God’s people as a result of their unfaithfulness.
But Daniel gets up and goes about his work (Dan 8:27).
He studies Scripture, specifically the book of Jeremiah (Dan 9:2); and he fasts, and he prays.
But, before we race ahead, let’s don’t miss this lesson.
Many have heard messages on “Be Daniels”, but in order to be brave and stand up for God in this hard world, let’s look closely at what Daniel did.
He didn’t deny the trouble around him. It bothered him greatly. He even fainted over it.
But he got up! And he went to work…his normal work and God’s work.
Though we may have real reason for concern (Daniel did), let’s go about the work God has given us to do. Let’s take one day at a time (Matt 6:34).
Let’s take care of our families and love our neighbors. Let’s serve our employers well.
But let’s also keep digging in the Word for hope and truth (Daniel did). It’s daily bread. Let’s hold on to that. It’s hope.
Let’s fast and pray for the heavy things on our hearts (Daniel did) . Let’s remember God hears our prayers.(1 John 5:14-15)
Let’s trust Him. Let’s praise Christ alone! The One who said He is coming again, will most certainly come for His children!
Here’s a wonderful song to remember where our hope is found, for this day and every day— https://youtu.be/16KYvfIc2bE (Christ Alone with Lyrics by Getty Music)
