I took this picture

As I often do, when I look at a beautiful sunset, I wonder what the sky will look like when Jesus comes “in the clouds” (Dan 7:13)

I’m drawn to the details of prophecy. Are you?

In Daniel chapter seven, Daniel recounts a vision he had back during Belshazzar’s reign. It is prophetic in nature detailing the four kingdoms and the final eternal kingdom.

In this vision, Daniel sees the Mighty Ancient of Days, the rise of the AntiChrist speaking pompous words, a war against the saints, and the everlasting kingdom of the Son of Man coming with the clouds! (Dan 7:13)

Daniel doesn’t give us all the details of what he saw and even states he, “wrote down the dream telling the main facts.” (7:1)

I want more detail. More explanation! (And I have to chuckle at his “main facts” statement. I feel like that is what I get when I ask my husband to detail a conversation he’s had with his momma on the phone. I call this the “man main facts”)

But Daniel does relay some “main facts” that should cause our hearts to hope and worship.

And honestly, Daniel gives some REALLY good detail here. What a magnificent, true picture he paints—

“As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened. (Dan 7:9-10)

And

“I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. (Dan 7:13-14)

Read that last sentence again, and stop a moment, and remember that God always does what He says He will do!

He always has!
He always will!

One day, He will return with the clouds!

The events in our world, the turmoil in our country, that person being mean to you…nothing or no one can stop our God!

May our eyes remain on Him!
May our feet follow Him!
May our hearts hope in Him!
And may our ears listen for that trumpet to sound!!

Because it will sound! And one day, one glorious day!💕

And on this Monday, this LABOR DAY, may we find lasting rest in that!
