The ground shook.
The angel appeared.
The stone rolled away.
The soldiers fell like dead men.
The grave empty.
Death defeated!
The Way Made!
Victory complete.
JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD AND DEFEATED SIN AND DEATH!
This changed everything!
When Christians say, “He is Risen”, it’s not that we are saying Christianity is useful. We are saying that it is TRUE!
All of it.
We know it. History tells of it —countless historical documents, more than just the Bible, record the events of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
What’s more, the disciples refused to recount what they had seen and heard, and all of them , but John, died a horrific martyr’s death for doing so .
And John, who survived being boiled in hot oil, was led by the Holy Spirit to write words meant for our hearts today—”Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”. John 20:6
Oh, believer, you may not have seen the resurrection with your human eyes, but you know it is all true and you are blessed.
The Savior lives, and He lives inside of you now.
This
very
moment.
You see Him in your day. You hear Him through His Word. You know He is at work bringing beauty from ashes in your life too.
What peace to trust Him more than we trust ourselves! What hope to know He is always with us and preparing a place for us in eternity.
And we also know this same Jesus, who does all He says He will do, will return to judge the living and the dead. (2 Tim. 4:1).
He said it.
He cannot lie. (Heb 6:18)
People we know, those we deeply love, those we work with, those we see in the drop-off line, those we pass in the halls; they will spend eternity apart from God, in Hell, if they do not come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
We can’t just hang up the Easter outfit and move on!
Oh, do you feel an urgency in this crazy world we live in?
God, open our human eyes to see the lost around us.
How can we believe, what we say we believe, and not tell others about the death-defeating Savior?
Oh friend, the Bible, the Living Word, tells us – “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. “(2 Tim 4:2)
This very same passage goes on to say, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (2 Tim. 4:3-4)
Have you looked around lately? Doesn’t this sound like our world? Did you see what our godless administration did yesterday to forbid any form of religious symbols at the Easter Egg event? Did you hear what they proclaimed today to be?
There is a very intentional shaking of fists at the things of God.
So, what can we possibly do?
God tells us in the next verse, “As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Tim 4:5)
Yes, YOUR ministry!
You have been given one, you know.
After Jesus walked out of that tomb and just before He ascended into Heaven, He gave His followers the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19).
Go and make disciples! Tell others about Jesus and what He has done!
Time is of the essence.
The consequences are huge.
This same Jesus, who fulfilled all the prophecies about His death and glorious resurrection, also says He is coming again and quickly! (Rev 22:20)
I want every person I know to run to Him for His glory and for their good!
I want others to know what He has done for them! I want them to know they really can trust Him more than they trust themselves. I want them to see that He is the only place where real HOPE, lasting PEACE and exceeding JOY can be found!
There is no life apart from Him!
And I want to give glory to the LIVING, RISEN SAVIOR because He, and He alone, deserves it all!
Friend, just tell them what He’s done for you.
Might you be persecuted? Yes, but remember the One who saved us, He is with us! He won’t leave us! He will help us tell them He loves them too.
Sunday’s Here!!!
The Savior is Risen!!!
But Monday is coming… who will you tell?
