When we keep our Christianity to ourselves, we miss the peace!

As Jesus sends out His disciples, He tells them, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matt 10:28-31)

To me, He is saying, “Fear God. Teach others to fear God, but then trust that this Mighty God sees you, has you, and has every situation you’ll ever face.”

Every situation—even the one you just thought of.
Nothing surprises Him.
He’s completely in control—completely.
And His children are of great value to Him—He knows every hair on your head!

His children—those who confess God before men—(Matt 10:32 tells us), need to remember that! We need to find confidence in that!

We also need to understand there is a responsibility in this as well. We are to actually confess Christ before men. There is no such thing as a secret Christian.

It’s peculiar that it seems in countries where Christianity is outlawed, believers more often find a way to tell others of the good news of Christ than places where it’s easy to share.

I’ve wondered why that is. The gift of salvation is no less a gift in the United States than communist China; but it seems believers there will risk imprisonment to tell others of Jesus, while many here remain quiet fearing what others may think of us.

We Americans like to be liked, and we don’t want to be cancelled, so many keep their beliefs to themselves, at home on the shelf, only to come out on Sunday —if it’s not raining, and we don’t have something better to do.

While we can certainly live this way, I believe those whose faith is not compartmentalized or hidden, those whose faith is a part of everything they do, exude a peace and a joy that others, who try to live to please the world, rarely experience.

Those who daily live for Christ, seem to more easily remember— He is with them in every situation—every one they could think of.

They rest knowing nothing surprises Him.
He’s completely in control—completely.
And His children are of great value to Him—and He knows every hair on their head!

Let’s rest in that. Let’s tell others what they can rest in too!
