Our hope was NEVER meant to be in ourselves.

Did you blow it yesterday?

Did sin raise it’s ugly head in you again?

Did something you thought you had mastered, master you?

Are you disappointed in yourself?

Friend, it’s a great date for a clean slate.

And this day IS a clean slate, brand new, a blank page, a total do-over for those who call Jesus, Lord.

Yeah, you may have blown it yesterday.

You may have walked knee-deep in sin…sin that hurts you and others.

But, it’s the enemy who would like you to keep standing there.

He’d like you to believe you’ve finally messed up, one, too many times.

But God’s mercies are new THIS morning.

Friend, His mercies for YOU are new again THIS morning.

Just like the day we first ran to Him for salvation, we can run to Him again!

Can you fathom the depths of THAT kind of love?

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him” (Lam 3:21-24)

Our hope was NEVER meant to be in ourselves…. Not the day we were first saved nor all the days after!

God, alone, is the forever faithful One!

His love never ends!

His mercies are NEW every morning!

And those who get up each day and place their hope in God, and not themselves, have true hope!

Keep going hope!

He is our hope to walk forward and do the next RIGHT thing; not because we could ever be good enough to earn His love, but because we realize we can’t!

And as we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive our sins (1John 1:9) and empower us to forsake that sin that so easily entangles.

Yes, we may have blown it again; but, because of Jesus, we can get up and keep walking forward in peace with our eyes on the One who set us free!

“Therefore , since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God”.(Heb 1:1-2)

Oh, keep running friend! And remember as the song says…

“All my hope is in Jesus! Thank God my yesterday’s GONE! I’ve been washed by the blood!”
