Do you feel a sense of urgency?
For years I’ve hoped the words I’ve shared would draw others to love and trust Jesus more.
I’ve put them out there, and I’ve prayed that those who don’t know Him, would somehow see Him in what He has led me to write and speak.
But lately, I’ve had such a greater sense of urgency.
I seriously wonder how much longer Christians will be able to freely share as we have.
I don’t have to tell you this world is changing so very fast, and not for the better.
Freedom of speech in this country has never been under such attack.
What’s more, anti-Christian, government-as-God, communistic and socialists movements are seeing a resurgence in many places around the world and spreading like wildfire on American college campuses.
Not only am I concerned that it may be much harder to share biblical truth, I’m concerned the time to share it with those we love may be short.
So many I know have lost loved ones lately. I literally seem to hear of people dying every day.
And so many sad, scary things fill our news stories. I can’t seem to turn away fast enough from the horrific footage of things happening in Ukraine and other places in this world.
I shake my head as evil goes undeterred by our weak President and his administration.
Our enemies have been emboldened and this weakness is literally putting so many at risk.
I listen as reporters discuss “never-before-alliances” between Russia, China and Iran; and I can’t help but think of the end time prophecies of Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation.
Oh friends, do you see it?
Things are hard, but they are happening just as God said they would.
Do you wonder if Jesus is coming back soon?
Still, so many do not know Him.
I love people who think this life is all there is. I love people who have a religion, but not a real saving relationship with Jesus Christ. I love people who are lost and on their way to Hell.
Surely, you do as well.
May the crazy, scary world around us only spur us to tell others about Jesus with an urgency as never before.
May we not get caught up in temporary things, that do not really matter, but may we live with an eternal purpose and store up treasures in Heaven.
May those who call Jesus, Lord and Savior, remember WE are the CHURCH of the LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth. (1 Tim 3:15)
As the church we are to hold the line when it comes to truth, though the world continually pushes against that line.
The truth is, God has done what He said He would do, and we can count on Him to do what He says He will do. This is without controversy, this is without debate, and we can take it to the bank!
When life, in this fallen world, comes crashing in, let’s remember His promises and daily study the Word to help us do so.
When the world tempts us to go our own way, or run away in fear, let’s remember WHO sits on the throne of our lives and Who is in control. No weapon formed against us will stand! (Isa 54:17)
Yes friends, WE are the church of the LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth—We have to hold the line, because in the latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons“ (1 Tim 4:1)
In the end days, which we could be experiencing now, Paul warns there will be those who will depart from the truth of God and give heed to deceiving spirits and demonic forces.
We must, especially now, test everything we are hearing. We must diligently do so!
The dear old Apostle Paul uses words like train, toil, and strive— “ Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. (1Tim 4:7-10)
Oh friend, there is REAL HOPE in the LIVING GOD!! Only in the LIVING GOD!
Let’s set our hearts on Him and find strength for this day. Let’s remember He is faithful and enough to sustain us, when all else seems to fail us.
Let’s pray that others will see the Lord in us and let’s open our mouths and tell them about the Savior – the reason for the HOPE we have.
Yes, the time is short.
The consequences are huge.
May we tell of the HOPE we have found in the Lord!
