These are hard days.
But we can count on God.
We can STILL count on God.
He’s calling the shots.
Remember, one-fifth of the books of the Bible are prophetic in nature.
God tells us things that will happen, before they happen,
and what He will do,
before He does it.
The book of Daniel is one of the most important books of prophecy in the Bible. Jesus, Himself, quotes Daniel and the prophecies of Daniel are key to the book of Revelation.
The Bible records how Daniel heard from God regarding a dream King Nebuchadnezzar had and told Nebuchadnezzar that the image he saw in his dream represents four earthly kingdoms and the eternal Kingdom of God that will never be destroyed. (Dan 2)
Daniel tells the king, “The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure.” (Dan 2:45)
And history has proven Daniel’s interpretation of the dream to be just as he said. It was fulfilled through the kingdoms of Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome. (For more on that, check out the Enduring Word App on Daniel 2)
But part of the dream, Daniel interpreted, is still to be fulfilled, the final eternal Kingdom—
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure”.”(Dan 2:44-45)
Yes, “the dream is certain, and its interpretation is sure”.
Knowing how accurately Daniel, as told by God, interpreted, the first four kingdoms, how could we doubt what he says about the eternal one?
Remember this —There is a Kingdom coming that will never be destroyed. And if the eternal Kingdom’s King is YOUR Lord and Savior, YOU are a FOREVER resident of that eternal Kingdom.
God keeps His Word! God does what He says He will do. He always will.
That same, promise-keeping, God IS with us! He is with those who call Him, Lord. Right now—In Afghanistan and every other place His children walk.
You can take this to the bank!
AND no matter how hard this life gets, it’s just a breath!
One day, oh, one day…
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Rev 21:1-4)
Today, I needed to remember this. Maybe you do too.
