The ground shook with supernatural tremor.
I wonder did the distraught, discouraged disciples suspect something when they felt it?
The angels appeared.
The mighty Roman soldiers fell like dead men.
The stone was rolled away.
The grave was empty.
Death had been defeated.
The Way was Made!
Victory was complete.
JESUS IS RISEN!
Can you imagine the utter shock and excitement of His disciples? Were the things Jesus had told them suddenly making sense now?
And Mary, the mother of Jesus, all she had heard, and seen, had been fulfilled before her human eyes.
But, God, through John said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed”. (John 20:29)
Oh, believer, your human eyes may not have seen all that happened when Jesus rose on that day, but you know, yes, you know, it is all so very true!!!
The Savior lives, and He lives inside you now. This very moment.
He is supernaturally present with You, and He has promised He will never leave or forsake you. (Deut 31:6)
You catch glimpses of Him in your day. You hear Him through His Word. Though you face hard times, deep down you believe He is at work bringing beauty from ashes in your life too.
What peace to trust the Risen Savior more than we trust ourselves! What hope to know The King of Kings is always with us and preparing a place for us in eternity.
But friend, if you believe all this to be true, you also know this same Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead. (2 Tim. 4:1).
People we know, those we deeply love in our families, those friends we work with and laugh with, those we see at the ballgames and the grocery store, those we pass in the halls at school —they will spend eternity apart from God, in Hell, if they do not come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
We can’t just hang up the Easter clothes, close the devotional, and move on, if we know Him, and love them, and believe what He says.
God, open our human eyes to see the lost around us. Give us your love for them and anoint our tongues.
How can we believe, what we say we believe, and not tell them about the Savior?
Oh friend – “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. “(2 Tim 4:2)
This passage goes on to say, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (2 Tim. 4:3-4)
Have you looked around lately? Doesn’t this sound like our world? Our country? Our neighborhoods? And even some of our churches?
So, what can we possibly do?
God tells us. The next verse in the passage says, “As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” (2 Tim 4:5)
Yes, YOUR ministry!
You have been given one, you know.
Just before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He gave His followers the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19).
Go and make disciples! Tell others about Jesus and what He has done! Teach them to follow all that He has commanded.
Let’s face it. Most people around us aren’t reading their Bibles, but they are reading us!
Do they see Jesus in our lives? In my life? In your life?
We, who know He is the ONLY WAY, and the only way for those we love, better pay attention.
Time is of the essence.I believe it may be short! The consequences are huge.
This same Jesus, who fulfilled all the prophecies about His death and glorious resurrection, also says He is coming again and quickly! (Rev 22:20)
You were called for such a time as this. Yes, YOU!
This isn’t just the pastor’s job.
You don’t need a title when you have a calling. And we, who call Jesus, Lord, all have a calling.
Don’t be silent. How can we, who have been rescued and set free, possibly be silent?
When we think about what He has done for us, we know we owe Jesus everything… every ounce of praise… our next breath…
I want every person I know to run to Him too….for their good and for His glory!!
I want them to know they really can trust Him more than they trust themselves. I want them to see that He is the only place where real HOPE, lasting PEACE and exceeding JOY can be found!
There is no life apart from Him!
And I want to give glory to the LIVING, RISEN SAVIOR because He, and He alone, deserves it all!
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt 28:19-20)
Friend, just tell them what He’s done for you. Share with them what He has taught you.
Because the One who saved us, He is with us! He won’t leave us! He will help us tell them He loves them too.
Sunday’s Here!!!

Many times, I do by example in how I live rather than preach verbally. I am not very good at verbalizing .
