There will come a point, and it probably has already, when you have to ask yourself who do you believe? Maybe you ask yourself this a lot lately-

Do you believe the world or God?

If ever we’ve needed to resolve to be resolved about this question, it is now!

The world’s truth and God’s truth are often diametrically opposed.

There is so much GARBAGE out there!

The Apostle Paul said, “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I’ve committed to Him until that Day.” (2 Tim 1:12)

Do you know who you believe? Are you persuaded He is able?

No, really. Do you?

Do you trust Him more than you trust yourself?

Do you believe what He says in His Word more than what the world is saying?

Do you know what He says about life, marriage, sexuality, identity and the other topics of our day?

Do you live by God’s principles, as defined in His Word, because you know Who you believe, and you are persuaded, because you walk with Him in real, daily relationship, so you know that He alone is able to keep what you’ve committed to Him (your life)?

Let’s break THAT long sentence up a bit—

Do you LIVE by God’s principles as defined in His Word?

because you KNOW Who you believe?

and you are persuaded, because you walk with Him in REAL, daily relationship?

so you know that He ALONE is able to keep what you’ve committed to Him (your life)?

until the Day of His return?

If you don’t, pray (right now). Ask God to help you trust Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you through His Word and in this day. Look for Him. Do the things you know He says to do. Don’t do the things you know He says not to do. Watch Him take care of you and draw you close.

Watch Him change things in your life and in your family’s life.

As we do this, may we confidently say, like that sweet old saint, “ I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I’ve committed to Him until that Day.” (2 Tim 1:12)

And, like that sweet old saint, may we have peace and strength no matter what comes!
