Paul continues on in teaching sound doctrine and gives us the bedrock statement of our faith,
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all,” (1 Tim 2:5-6)
No other way.
If we say we follow Christ, it also means we are recognizing all other ways to God to be false information…FAKE NEWS!
We study sound doctrine so we can test what others say, walk in truth, and refute lies.
There is a woman with a large audience on Twitter. She calls herself a Christian and calls herself a pastor (a doctrinal problem to be discussed at a later time).
She recently said, “Christians, I’m horrified that we still have to say this, but—There is absolutely no reason to convert anyone who practices another religion, and/or is happy in their own spiritual practice or lack thereof. “ (Lura Groen)
As I read this, and 1st Timothy 2:5-6, I know Ms. Groen is teaching false doctrine. For there is one God, one mediator between God and man and only one way to Heaven.
Lost people need to know this!
Jesus said of Himself, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one come comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)
So yes, anyone practicing or not practicing any other religion, happy or not, is LOST and on their way to Hell if Jesus Christ is not the Lord of their life. PERIOD.
Friend, false teachers, like Ms Groen, have easy access to social media pulpits. They are twisting the Word for their own gain and deceiving many along the way.
Let’s be committed to study sound doctrine and speak truth. Let’s refute the lies and teach our kids and others to do the same.
Let’s wage the good warfare, because we have an enemy and so do those who are being led astray by false teaching. The enemy is the father of all lies. This is why we need to know and confidently stand on truth.
Jesus told us, as we approach the end of days, false teachers would abound and deceive many (Matt 24:5).
How do we know if someone is a false teacher?
Isaiah 8:20 says, “If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
Oh friend, more than ever, let’s study the Word, let’s test everything we hear by the Bible, and let’s hold on to the good! (1 Thess 5:21)
Let’s know sound doctrine and refuse to listen to those who teach anything else—
“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple” (Romans 16:17, 18).
