You know it’s going to be okay, right?

You know it’s going to be okay, right?

Of course, I want the election to go the way of religious freedom, protecting the lives of the unborn, the sanctity of marriage, ….but it may not.

And our world may get harder.
Our country may look very different.

But as I think about all this, I remember that the greatest times of revival often come during the hardest of days.

And you know, I’ve prayed the hard prayer for my kids for the Lord to take them through whatever it takes to love Him first.

Praying that prayer for my kids meant my heart ached as I watched them face hard things to truly realize there is no Rock like our God.

And, if I really love my fellow countrymen, maybe I should pray this same prayer for our country.

But honestly, I’ve held back. I’ve really wanted God to have this election go one way over the other.

Of course, I think one platform is better than the other and more closely aligned with Biblical principles.

But what if, hard days is what it will take to shake our country and our churches into seeing the Lord for Who He really is?

What if, like many times before, it is the desperate times that bring true revival?

Or maybe, these difficult times are actually leading up to the End of Times?

I don’t know.
I don’t.

But I do know this — the Lord of peace Himself will give us peace always in every way. (2 Thess 3:16).

That’s where my study of the Word landed this morning just days before this election.

No matter how things go, God will not leave or forsake His children.

He says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Whatever we need, He will give us in the moment we need it.

Our hope is not in the government, it never really has been, but in God. We have to remember that!

Let’s remind each other of that.

Our flesh is drawn to the comforts that we can see, but our spirits are not comforted by earthly things for this is not our home!

Our hope is eternal.
Our King is victorious!
His plan will stand!

And one day every knee will bow, every tongue will confess that Christ is Lord!

And as Paul ends his letter, may our hearts know there is no end to the goodness and care of our Lord—

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace in every way. The Lord be with you all.” (2 Thess 3:16)

What a Savior!
