Oh Lord, how I feel my wandering heart tempted to look to earthly solutions and hope in them after this election.

I’m so very thankful for the mercy I believe you showed us in the outcome of this vote.

But I know the battle for the hearts and souls of men rages no less.

Others need to know true hope, eternal life, and lasting peace come only through You.

My heart needs to remember this daily and not be distracted by temporary solutions for eternal problems.

The root of all that ails us as a country, and as individuals, is what it has always been —sin. That has not changed.

God, may your church not squander the freedom we have in this country to share the truth of the gospel.

May we not water down the truth, but daily remind ourselves and boldly tell others —You alone are the way, the truth and the life.

May we never hope in the government to do what only God can do in the hearts and minds of men.

May we pray with greater fervor for the Lord to bring revival. May we ask Him to give us eyes to see the hurting and the lost among us. May we daily seek Him through His Word and be equipped to be salt and light in the darkness.

May our love for the Lord and our trust in His better ways draw others to want to know Him.

Oh friends, let’s not be tempted by complacency. Let’s make disciples who make disciples for real “hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteous. I dare not trust the sweetest frame but wholly lean on Jesus Name.”

May we, who’ve been saved by the blood of the Lamb, stand on the only solid ROCK —Christ the Lord!

And may others come to know Him and walk in the peace that He alone brings for their good, this country’s good, this world’s good, and most of all, may it be for His glory!
