Wise words spoken quietly…

”Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should be heard. Rather than the shout of a ruler of fools.” (Ecc 9:17)

In this world, we have many “rulers of fools” shouting their opinions from stages and platforms.

Celebrities, professors, news-pundits, and others seem to have more influence than ever before, though often their opinions are increasingly anti-biblical.

But, oh the treasure of wisdom spoken quietly between friends over a cup of coffee.

There is no applause for the wise one who has steered a fool from his folly, encouraged the downcast, or patiently taught a new believer how to direct their steps with scripture.

Funny too, how those who have impacted generations are often the most humble among us.

They do not seek glory for themselves but daily, quietly, prayerfully, seek to share with others where true hope is found.

The wise have learned that peace comes not from settled circumstances but from settling one’s heart on God; and because of this, they help others withstand the storms this life can bring.

Oh friend, do you have a wise friend who speaks quietly into your life?

If so, thank this person and praise God who has blessed you richly. Keep setting aside time to sit with them and learn from them , and one day endeavor to do for others what this person has done for you.

And if the Lord has taught you truth, if you’ve learned from His discipline, if He’s carried you through a storm, or answered a prayer…will you ask Him who may need to hear of this? Oh may those who’ve tasted and seen God’s goodness, those He plucked out of the pit, those He’s comforted and healed simply share with others wise words, spoken quietly, that should be heard.
