When my heart feels faithless.

I was already late to the women’s ministry meeting as a glanced at the church sign as I drove quickly by.

“One prayer can change everything”.

“Well, Lord,” I thought, “I’ve prayed about a thousand times about_____and nothing has changed.”

I surprised myself.

Oh, me of little faith. And here I was speeding to my women’s ministry meeting of all things.

As I arrived and sat down, the others began to share prayer requests, and someone asked me about a situation we had prayed about the year before.

“Oh, God has really answered and blessed in that one.” I answered.

And He had.
He really had.

But you know, I’m not sure I would’ve have remembered that unless they had asked me.

How many prayers have I forgotten that God has answered? How many have you?

I know God answers prayers, but I needed to REMEMBER again that GOD answers prayers…and being in ministry, serving at church, being a Christian, does not negate the fact that I need to plant my feet around other believers who will help me to remember.

We need to keep going to church, and small group, and Bible studies. We need to keep serving and seeking.

And for us to encourage one another, we have to be vulnerable enough to share our doubts, and worries, and cares. Yes, even you ministry leaders!

This way, we can see God answer prayers in our lives and remind each other to hold tight in the “not yet”.

Because, honestly, the “not yet” is hard.

And can we also be honest that the evil one will even try to use the answered prayers of others to make us feel like God doesn’t care about our “not yets”?

But this is simply not true.

It’s against so much of scripture and this is another reason we need others. We need them to help us remember truth from the Word.

So resist the temptation that we all feel to be a lone ranger , to doubt God, to take things in our own hands, and to be jealous of the answered prayers of others.

Don’t cooperate with the evil one who has come to rob, steal and destroy. (John 10:10)

But cast your cares on Jesus. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”(1Pet 5:7-9)

Keep meeting with one another and encourage one another. (Heb 10:25)

And remember God loves you, don’t forget, He sent His only son to die for you (John 3:16), and nothing, absolutely nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37).

Even that thing you just thought about.
