You can hear the Word of God and not do it. You can nod yes with your head and walk the opposite way with your feet.

But Jesus told us, “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matt 7:24)

God’s Word is meant to be lived out in our lives. We are to do what it says. The Bible makes this clear again and again.

When we choose to follow biblical principles, hard times will still come, but we won’t get knocked spiritually down. We will be standing on the solid ground of truth! (Matt 7:25)

But not so the foolish! They don’t act on what they hear. They don’t trust God enough to do what He says. They trust themselves just a little bit more. And their lives often crash around them (Matt 7:26-27)

They go their own way again and again foolishly expecting a different result.

But those who trust God more than they trust this world, their emotions, or anything else, and obey Him, find peace that exceeds any circumstances.

I see it. I bet you have too.

I’ve been drawn to the Lord as I watch others keep following Him with incredible, unexplainable peace even when their circumstances are incredibly hard. Haven’t you?

And friend, maybe that’s you right now. Maybe you are following God through a storm. Just know, others are encouraged as you hold on tight! Your life is a loving testimony in this world!

And storms, they pass by, but the Word of the Lord, the Rock who is Jesus Christ, He is the firm foundation!

We can stand on that! We can keep going in that!

“All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.” (1 Pet 1:24-25)

Forever!
