As a little girl, I remember listening while my older relatives talked about the Antichrist. Honestly, it scared me.
As I’ve grown up, I’ve searched the Scriptures, watched the news, and tried to figure out who it could be, and if he has appeared on the scene.
John tells us, it is the last hour and that the Antichrist is coming, and then, he curiously says, “many antichrists have come”. (1 John 2:18)
These are those who deny Jesus is the Christ. For if he is the Christ, he is Lord and God.
These “antichrists” don’t often come across as scary individuals but actually are attractive and appealing in their twist of the truth.
Though they don’t appear terrifying, they are no less dangerous.
We should be vigorously on guard for them as they ever-so-slyly promote their “instead of” Jesus, sugar-coated poison that lead many straight to Hell.
Many “antichrists” start out “talking the talk”, but they stray from the truth and twist the scripture to fit their agendas. They define God in ways that suits and benefits them. They often gain a large following and are false teachers.
Friends, we have to be on guard as many of these false teachers and antichrists are among us today —and they aren’t trying to only deceive the lost, they are trying to deceive Christians as well. Remember John is talking to Christians in his letter.
We need to remember we can discern this attempt at deception because, as Christians, we “have an anointing from the Holy One” and we “know the truth”. (1 John 2:20-21) (Read it, if you doubt this).
We don’t have to sit around and wring our hands in worry. We simply need to train our brains to listen to the Holy Spirit whose job is to remind us of truth.
“Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life.
These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him”. (I John 2:24-29)
Did you see it? “ Everyone who PRACTICES righteousness is born of Him”
Friend- Know the Word so you can know what is righteous and what is not. Live the Word. Discern the truth and do not follow those who do not practice righteousness.

Good morning, Kim, This is a subject I have wrestled with also. Thank You for sharing about this subject. Satan is so cunning & misleading. Unfortunately, there appears to be many wolves in sheep’s clothing among us teaching a false message & many believe them. I hope you will touch on this subject again. Have a blessed day. Diana??????
