Keep Asking

I don’t know about you, but my list of things I’m asking God just seems to be getting longer. This world, and “my world”, feel full of trouble.

As I thought through all this, about praying and feeling like I was losing heart, I came across this post from a couple of years ago—

I was so sad. For some reason, our cuckoo clock had crashed to the floor and had been laying,in pieces, on my dining room table, for weeks.

We had bought it years ago when our young family lived overseas.

I walked by as my husband, reading glasses perched on his nose, and pliers in his hand, meticulously pieced it back together.

I heard him whisper, “thank you Lord”, and I knew he had been praying.

Of course, he was praying.

Though my husband would be the first to tell you he is far from perfect, this I’ve observed, he prays and he rarely gives up.

Luke 18:1 says,“men always ought to pray and not lose heart.”

Friend, let’s don’t miss this! The two are connected! Praying powerfully helps us not lose heart!!

I’ve seen my husband pray over really hard stuff and day-to-day stuff.

I’ve seen him pray about forgiving others, finding lost keys, and that the rain would hold off so he could get footers in for the houses he builds.

Sometimes the answers come quickly, but often, they don’t. But he keeps asking.

It is true, continuing to pray helps us rest in Jesus no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.

In Luke, Jesus tells the parable of the woman who would not stop pleading with the judge to answer her requests. (Luke 18:3-8)

Honestly, it blows my mind that the same God who came and died for us would tell us to keep asking again and again!

Have any of us ever suggested to our children just to keep asking us something over and over?

How our Heavenly Father wants to hear from us! How He wants us to ask and not lose heart. How great His love is for us!

As much as we love our children, we’ve all been worn out by their asking.

But not God.
Not our PERFECT FATHER.

And, unlike us, His answers are always perfect (Psalm 18:30).

But let’s remember just Who we are asking…Our Father IS the Most High God. His power is endless. He created Heaven and earth! He hears our prayers.

There is
NOTHING
too hard
for Him! (Jer 32:27)

He tells us to pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17) and to ask Him about everything (Prov 3:5-6).

Oh! Praise the Lord! He does not grow weary of our prayers……let’s don’t grow weary in the praying. Let’s keep asking!

“I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore. (Psalm 121)

Right now!
And forevermore!

There is no Rock like our God!
And He wants us to keep asking Him! ❤️
