I wonder if you have noticed it too?
Not once, but over and over…
I see people whose faith has grown as their earthly securities have been removed.
They lose jobs, finances, relationships, even face death of loved ones, and they still grow closer to God.
It’s astounding to watch. It’s amazing.
It’s also unnerving.
My flesh heart can’t help but ask myself, if I were in their position would I be able to hold on?
Would I fall apart and walk away, or would my trust in God possibly grow, as theirs did in the trial and tragedy.
I secretly beg God to not take me through anything so hard.
Well, at least, not again.
When I think about it, during my hardest of days, God didn’t tell me just how He would carry me through, He just did it. One moment at a time. One day at a time.
God’s Grace is sufficient for the moment. (2 Cor 12:9).
He doesn’t tell us beforehand exactly how He will carry us through our greatest fears; He just tells us He will be with us.
He says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. “ (Isa 43:2-3)
And as I focus on the God who says, “I will”, I don’t have to worry about what I will do or how I might handle something.
I have only one job and that is to trust God each day and follow Him.
I’m not to worry about tomorrow.
I can lay down my scary scenarios.
I can stop being so afraid of losing a blessing that I can actually receive it!
I can walk forward, no longer paralyzed by fear, WHEN I remember fixing my eyes on earthly fears is the opposite of faith.
As I turn my eyes on Jesus, as I fear God alone, the fear of my actual circumstances or those I worry may happen fade away.
And if hard days do come, if more hard days come, I know God will never leave me. He will give me just what I need.
And like others I’ve watched go through hard things, He can grow my faith too; as I continue to trust Him one day at a time.
And friend, the God of “I will” will do the same for you.
Let’s encourage each other to keep our eyes on Him!

Please also pray as I pray over the next book of the Bible to study and share. 💕
It seems as if no matter how strong in faith in God we still question what occurs. He helps us every second of life.
I will pray with you regarding next book of Bible.
How are you and family doing? I hope OK.
