Our young people are increasingly discouraged

I’ve sat here trying to think of a different word to use.

I don’t want to say I’m “worried” about our young people, because if I do, someone will comment with the verse about not worrying.

And if they did, that would be good, because many who follow this page are still not reluctant to remind each other of truth.

But, you know, this isn’t so for everyone and especially many young people.

In fact, many of our young people, who are walking with Jesus, feel so very alone. And I’m concerned, and maybe as a mom or grandma you are seeing it, and are concerned, too?

Many of those outside the church are caught up in all kinds of sin, but so are many inside our churches.

And I think our young people are especially seeing and feeling this in their friend groups.

And many, especially those in their twenties, in the church, are not only caught up in sin themselves, but will not hesitate to go to social media to applaud when their friends are as well.

Just recently, I observed a young person “come out” and some of his church “friends” applauded him on social media for finding “his truth”.

Now, I know not every young person in our churches agrees that this was a good decision, but those who hold to biblical truth are increasingly being silenced and feeling like no one truly believes the biblical truth they’ve been taught to believe.

Another young lady I know is discouraged because those she’s been with in church groups for years, those who lift their hands to praise Jesus with her on Sundays, are routinely sleeping with their boyfriends and girlfriends.

The enemy is making great strides with this discouragement and is increasingly using it to silence younger Christians.

He lies to them and tells them that those who seek to follow Christ are all alone. And he is making great strides with this current cancel culture.

But the truth is still the truth.

God always told us the road is narrow. (Matt 7:14)

He told us many would fall away with the cares of this world. (Mark 4:19).

He told us as we approach the end of days, that we should encourage one another and ALL THE MORE! (Heb 10:25)

And friends, let’s all be deliberate about that.

Let’s especially encourage the young people we see truly following Christ. Let’s help them find each other. (Shoot! Let’s play matchmaker even if we have to! 😁❤️)

But seriously, lets help them know, though they often feel like they are alone, it’s just not true.

I know several who are following Jesus in all their ways. I bet you do too. Tag them in this post. If they aren’t on this site, send it to them. Just do something to encourage them.

Encourage the good you see in others. Remind them that one day, every knee will bow to Jesus (Phil 2:10)! And one day, those who call Him, Lord, will be surrounded by thousands and ten thousands praising His name (Rev 5:11)

Remind them, that though it can be hard, God rewards those who seek Him! (Heb 11:6)

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.

The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.”(Psalm 1:1-6)

And friends, let’s all pray. Let’s pray for those young people God has here for such a time has this! He will equip them for all He has called them to face! (Heb 13:21)

He won’t let them down! He won’t let any of us down!

  1. Life has always been in transition, difficulties in each generation. But I doubt if people here learned about the former Soviet Union, reading actual experiences of the people there, would they dare complain so vehemently. No. They would see the garbage attempted here, speak up, and call their politicians, writing as well, but not as the above.
