Lately, I’ve found myself wondering if Jesus is coming back soon. Have you?
Here are some things we know about the Second Coming of Christ—
People will be going about their normal day-to-day stuff… getting married, partying, buying and selling, building, and planting gardens. (Luke 17:26-30)
Many will reject Jesus. Wickedness will also be accepted as normal or routine. (Luke 17:25)
The Prophet Isaiah tells us,in the last days, wrong will be called right, and right will be called wrong, and people will be wise in their own eyes. (Isaiah 5)
The Apostle Paul warns us in his second letter to Timothy, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.” (2 Tim 3:1-5)
It all sounds like today, doesn’t it?
Jesus tells us the destruction of the last days will come when we least expect it. (Luke 17:26-30) Some will be taken while others will be left. (Luke 17:31-32)
And then, sobering words from the Savior, that deserve our utmost attention—“Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17:33)
So, what’s on your calendar today?
Is it all about you? Your life NOW? What YOU want?
Friend, let’s ask ourselves if we are trying to save our lives by living like this is all there is.
Maybe you aren’t caught up in a mess of sin, but maybe you are so consumed with “YOUR kingdom” that you are too busy to concern yourself with His.
Sure, you love your kids and your man. You’ve got things planned. You are super busy. Me too!
But let’s take an honest look at how we’ve spent the last week, have we been all about our life here and concerned ourselves very little, if at all, with His Kingdom?
But what if today were the last day? What if the Second Coming was coming soon? (and we could be we seeing things that look like birth pains of His return)
What if destruction were to come in a blink of an eye? What about those you know and love who don’t know the Savior?
Honestly, if we knew Jesus were coming tomorrow, how would that change what we do today?
Friend, we don’t know that He is coming soon, but we also don’t know that He’s not.
May we be about His business. Let’s love God and truly love others, all others, and tell them about Him.
“Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17:33)

It is so hard for me to know how I am to be living for others, for God when I am injured, unable to go anywhere, visit anyone.
A part of me seems as if is missing.
What do I do?
