“I have fought the good fight.
I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.
Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing”. (2 Tim 4:7-8)
Not to me only
but also to ALL
who have loved His appearing.
These words Paul wrote,
“I have fought the good fight.
I have finished the race.
I have kept the faith.”
These words should be our words.
These goals should be our goals.
This same Savior, whom Paul loved and longed to see, should be loved and longed for by us just as much.
Just as much!
What Christ did for Paul,
He did no less for you and for me.
When we truly understand what Christ has done for us, when we think about how deep His love and amazing His grace, when we think about the chains He has broken in our lives and the freedom He has given, when we realize He is every moment interceding for us and is, right this moment, preparing a place for us in a glorious eternity with Him….
How can we not, FIGHT the good fight?
How can we not truly seek to FINISH the race well and KEEP the faith with all we have?
All praise! All glory! All honor is due Christ the Lord!
This should spur us on!
THIS should actually impact our choices in this day!
Are you storing up treasure in Heaven? Are you longing for the return of our Lord?
No eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him (1 Cor 2:9)
May we seek Him with all our hearts, in this day. May we love Him more tomorrow than we do today. May we fight the good fight! Finish the race and keep the faith!
For what a faith it is to trust in the One True God! The Alpha and Omega! The Righteous Judge! The Soon Coming King!
