This has NOT changed.

Yesterday, the words of Hebrews 10:39 kept coming to me-“But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.”

We, who have faith, are not of those who shrink back. We are not of those who draw back.

We are those who believe.
And keep believing.

We are not believing or trusting in this world, or our government, or our bank accounts, or our comforts, or our earthly freedoms, or even our very selves.

We are those who believe in Christ, the Living God, the Savior of our souls. And we keep believing in Him.

We keep setting our hearts and our hopes on Him.
Over and over.
Again and again.

No matter what happens around us.

We aren’t the first Christians to face hard times. And honestly, the Lord often brings His greatest of harvests in the hardest of days.

He is our hope!
Always!

We are to, “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful”. (Heb 10:23)

He is still faithful!
Of course, He is still faithful.

We are not to shrink back from trusting Him, and we aren’t to shrink back from doing His will. Not as long as we have breath in our lungs!

Those who have seen the goodness of our Lord don’t draw back from obeying the Lord.

We don’t shrink back from loving others. We don’t draw back from serving them.

No, we are not of those who draw back, because of those, God has no pleasure. (Heb 10:38)

We are the faithful who live as the faithful. We live as those who are called out in the hall of faith in Hebrews 11.

They “endured by seeing Him who is invisible” (Heb 11:27) and “out of their weakness were made strong” (Heb 11:34)

They ran the race that was before them with endurance, and so shall we, as we throw off the sin that so easily entangles and look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. (Heb 12:1-2)

Oh friend, let’s keep looking to Him! Let’s encourage each other to do this, and all the more, as we see the Day approaching!

Who we are, has not changed, because Who He is has not changed.

He is a consuming fire (Heb 12:29) who shakes the the things that are made that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. (Heb 12:27).

And He remains. He who cannot lie, says “ I will never leave you or forsake you” (Heb 13:5)

“So we may boldly say: The LORD is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Heb 13:6)

May we, in this day, and all the days ahead of us, trust Him “to make us complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Heb 13:21)

Glory to Him!
Who Is and Was and Is to come!!
