The crowds grow, but Jesus is not loud or forceful, but gentle, and continues to heal “them all” fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy (Matt 12:15-21).
What’s more, and what’s truly radical for that time and culture, is this healing of “all”included the Gentiles!
“And in His name Gentiles will trust.” (Matt 12:21)
The low of the low, the despised of the culture, the outcasts —the Gentiles—Jesus came for them too!
He came for all!
Unlike other religions where you must work your way to their god—The One True God left a throne in Heaven to come to us.
Unlike every other god of every other religion, Jesus came to die for the sin of others —fully knowing the ugly depths of sin humans can fall into.
Jesus knew the worst thing you’d ever do and He died anyway.
Clearly, He doesn’t ask for perfection or for you to get your life cleaned up before you come to Him. He merely asks that you run to Him and trust Him to save you, then He will help you trust Him for the other things.
I heard a story of a guy who said he was using drugs for four months after he was saved. He said one day, he simply prayed, “God help me not be a hypocrite and run to something else besides you”, and God set him free of the drugs too.
As we run to Jesus for salvation, and then trust Him to run to Him for other things like comfort, security, peace, direction etc instead of the old things we used to run to, we find more and more freedom and joy!
Jesus really can save every soul and break every chain. He came for all. No one has out-sinned His ability to forgive and no one is too far gone.
Dead men come alive in an instant when they call on His Holy Name (John 5:24) and nothing can pluck them out of His Hand (John 10:28-29)! He will complete the good work He started (Phil 1:6) .
