How do you come to Jesus?
Does it have to be perfect?
Absolutely not!
In Matthew 9:18-26, Jesus heals the daughter of a ruler and the woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. Both came to Him with incomplete or inaccurate understanding of Jesus… but they came to Him in faith.
They knew He had what they needed.
And here’s the thing, you don’t have to come to Jesus with perfect understanding. You don’t have to understand everything all at once. You just need to walk toward Him in faith.
The ruler thought Jesus needed to physically come to his daughter to heal her, and the woman who was bleeding thought there was something supernatural about His clothing.
Neither thinking was accurate. But Jesus saw their hearts of faith and had mercy on them.
You don’t have to get a theology degree or get yourself all fixed before coming to Jesus. You can walk to Him with your problems, your pain, and your imperfections. The key is to go to Him, to take that ONE step.
He will meet you where you are. He will do the work. He will help you know and love Him and trust Him more and more. He will use the Bible as a big part of how He does that. He says in Phil 1:6, He will complete the good work He starts in you. (Phil 1:6)
He’s that kind of Savior.
You can trust Him.
He will help you.
