Are you in danger of hearing these words?

Many call themselves Christian’s, but they really aren’t. They are in danger of hearing the terrifying words of the Lord, “I never knew you; depart from me.” (Matt 7:23).

Perhaps, you know someone like this? Perhaps, you are like this?

For today, many say they are a Christian, but, in fact, live as if they don’t believe God is real (the God of the Bible).

In a world, where we spend so much time focusing on defining ourselves, it seems worthy to make sure we are not thinking we are a Christian, when, in fact, we are not.

Those in danger of this, may find the following true about themselves-

Perhaps, you prefer to worship a god you created in your own mind, who happens to agree with you all the time.

But you don’t really believe in the God of the Bible.

Because if you did, you would reverentially fear Him too much to live any other way than His way.

Instead, you make your own rules. You pick and choose the parts of the Bible you like. You go with what feels right to you and is, of course, politically correct. You ignore all the rest.

You are the ruler of your kingdom . There’s no room on the throne of “your” life except for you.

As you live “your” life, you expect “your” god to bless what you do in ways “you” consider blessings.

And when He doesn’t, you get pretty upset.

Oh, you call yourself a Christian, you like the tradition, you don’t want to upset your grandma, you’ve got lots of business connections from church, but you don’t worship the God of the Bible because you are too busy worshipping yourself, trying to make yourself happy.

And the thing is, you just aren’t happy.

In fact, you are pretty miserable. Horribly miserable.

Because it’s tiring being the god of “your” universe.

It tough thinking you know everything and have to control everything.

It’s nearly impossible to control the world around you to suit you.

There’s been plenty of things that, at first, seemed right to you but in the end they’ve felt like death. (Prov 14:12)

Still, you’ve resisted giving up control.

Because surely your ways are better than His ways.

Except, they’re not.

And the truth is, if you truly believe in the One True God of the Bible, you will surrender your ways to His better ways.

Peace, joy, and hope are found no other way. No other place.

Those who don’t surrender their lives to Jesus will continue to war with themselves and with others.

Salvation is found no where else. (Acts 4:12)

And the truth is, those who effectively live as “Christian Atheists” are in danger of hearing the most terrifying words of all from the very real, One True God, “I never knew you, depart from me.” (Matt 7:23)

But those who know the One True God for Who He is, deny themselves, take up their cross daily and follow Him. (Luke 9:23)

And the funny thing is, those who truly believe in Him, who know, worship and surrender their lives to Him are the happiest people I know. (see Psalms 1)

Those who surrender all..truly gain all, eternally all! ❤️

And friend-if this has been you, if you’ve effectively been a Christian Atheist, there is a greater Hope than yourself. His Name is Jesus. He stands with open arms. Run to Him!

Because of Him, for all who call Him Lord and surrender their lives to Him, “one day every sad thing will become untrue” (Tolkien) and peace will forever flow forever like a river!

All to Jesus, I surrender. All to Him, I freely give. 🎼
