It’s one of the most beautiful, comforting, quoted parts of the Bible —“ Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”(Matt 6:23-25)
Jesus goes on, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”(Matt 6:36-30)
And oh my heart. How my heart needs to remember, again and again, that my Father indeed has all that concerns me. He loves me. And He is taking care of me.
I’ve fought worry over situations that I absolutely cannot fix.
Oh, I’ve tried and often I’ve made things worse with my efforts.
I’ve pleaded with God to intervene and resolve the issue. In my timing.
As I read my Bible, it’s clear that God does indeed have an active role in our lives. But His timing and His ways aren’t for me to decide.
What’s more, in that active role, God is the pursuer, the One always at work for our good and often in thousands of ways we cannot see.
And so my heart, though heavy with real issues, CHOOSES to trust God.
Today.
And then, again, tomorrow
As I once more make the decision to trust my Loving Father with what I cannot fix, my emotions catch up with my head. Yours can too!
Peace…first, just a small drop….grows to a river that floods my soul.
But for this river to wash me in peace moment by moment , I must deliberately stay connected to the Living Water through His Word and prayer.
For, like you, I have an enemy who daily wills to rob me of peace, and hope, and joy, but we have a Mighty God who reminds us He does not sleep, He does not slumber and He is at work in that which concerns us. (see Psalm 121)
So, once more, this day, for this thing, I will choose to trust God more than I trust me or what my eyes can see.
And for your struggle, your worry, that which gnaws at your stomach, that thing that is not fixed yet….you can trust Him too. Yes, you can!
For He is faithful and He is at work!
We can trust that and not worry. And tomorrow we can get up and trust Him again. One day at a time. Eyes on Jesus. All the way Home. 💕

If it’s not too much trouble I asked you say a prayer for me I’m going through a lot right now and I am struggling. Thank you for all that you do by sharing your testimony and your faith.

Peggy, I’m not strong really. I do depend on the Lord and He carries me. I’m asking Him to be your strength, to lift your head, to give you laughter and joy. May He comfort and heal. Thank you for holding tight to our Father even when it’s hard.
