I get it. I really do. There are times we all need to pull away from the news and this crazy world and be refreshed with truth and rest.
However, it’s not okay to stick our heads in the sand and leave them there!
The truth is, it’s not realistic nor is it helpful to our kids, grandkids, and fellow men if Christians refuse to engage in the fight for truth in our culture.
As Christians, we believe in absolute truth (Psalm 19:7), and we know there is a father of all lies (John 8:44) who has come to rob, kill and destroy (John 10:10).
As image bearers (Gen 1:27,31) of the One who cannot lie (Titus 1:2) we are called to stand against those who trade in lies with ridiculous arguments and lofty opinions (2 Cor 10:5) that their wrong ways are right (Isa 5:20).
The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Christians at Corinth, “ We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,” (2 Cor 10:5)
I’m not suggesting we marinate ourselves in the cultural garbage all day long; but are we paying enough attention that we understand what is going on in our world?
Are you also equipping yourself with the Word so you can destroy the arguments and lofty opinions that are being sold as truth to your family and friends?
Let’s look around us, lives are actually being destroyed because people are believing lies while many Christians, who know truth, remain silent.
Put plainly—Be informed. Be equipped. Pray and engage. There is truth. There is hope. There is salvation. May the redeemed remember the truth and say so!
Oh friends,” be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” (2Tim 4:2)
