Many believe in a Judgment Day, they just aren’t sure how they will end up being judged.

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. (1 John 4:17).

Love has been perfected in Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus, and only because of Jesus, those who have called on His Name for salvation, can have boldness in the day of judgment.

I don’t know if there is anything more sad to me than to talk with someone about whether they will spend eternity in Heaven and they respond, “I sure hope so.”

After this, they often begin to describe how they’ve tried to live their life well, and explain they believe their good outweighs their bad.

Or they mention how their parents decided to have them sprinkled as an infant or that their grandma always prayed for them.

But deep down, the truth is, they aren’t really sure they will spend eternity in Heaven.

They seem to believe in a Judgment Day, they just aren’t sure how they will end up being judged.

But we can know! For sure!

Those who are covered by the blood of the Lamb can boldly be assured!

While we were dead in our sins (Eph 2:1), and the Bible says, “an enemy of God” (Rom 5:10), Jesus died on the Cross making a propitiation(the act of appeasing God) for our sins.

John has just told us, “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

We didn’t do anything. God did it all. We cannot be good enough, we can’t get to our life straightened up enough to earn what Jesus has done for us on the Cross.

Salvation is a completely free gift. The Bible says those who call on the Name of the Lord to save them shall be saved! (Rom 6:23, 8:32)

Those who call on Jesus can be confident and without fear!

But friend, you have to be the one to call. No one else can make this decision to ask Jesus to be your Lord for you.

Your parents may have had great intentions when they dedicated you to the Lord and had you baptized as an infant.

But search the scriptures, no where will you find that anyone else can call on the name of the Lord for you to be saved. Only you can do this for yourself.

But if you’ve called on the name of the Lord to be saved, you absolutely can have complete confidence!

“By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love ( 1 John 4:17-18)

Fear has to do with punishment and those who have asked Jesus to save them have absolutely nothing to fear because Christ took our punishment! He paid it all!!

Finished. Done. Forever.

He paid it all! So let’s live with grateful hearts knowing all to Him we owe!
