I was baptized today!

I was baptized today!

Yes, me! I know some of you are shocked.

If you’ve read my book, you know, like many of you, I was baptized as a child. But for years, I went my own way, did my own thing, and felt like I gave God enough to get by. Just not all.

In my early twenties, I surrendered all of my life to Christ. (You can read specifically about that in the excerpt from my book, Truth to Hold On To, pinned to the top of my ministry page right now)

But here’s why I (the Christian speaker, the devotional writer, the one that talks about Jesus so much) was baptized today.

Simply put. I needed to be!

I want to follow the Lord in believers baptism AFTER I truly believed and surrendered!

At nine years of age, I knew a lot about Jesus, I was baptized, but I had a religion that never changed my life until in my twenties, I surrendered all I knew of me, to all I knew of Him, and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.

Jesus is my Kinsman Redeemer! His blood has redeemed me! I have been bought with the highest price, no longer a slave to my sin!

I’ve wrestled for years with whether I needed to be baptized again or not and, though it is a bit humbling, I came to the conclusion that I needed to do so!

I don’t want there to be any ounce of me, pride or anything else, held back from Jesus.

My baptism, all these years later, is a public proclamation of that.

I have been buried in his death and raised with Him to walk in newness of life! I’m not ashamed of proclaiming that!! Why should I wrestle with that decision?

But friend, the wrestling that is truly the most important is the wrestling I did in my early twenties!

For, it does not matter if you’ve been sprinkled, or dunked, or attended a class, or raised your hand, or anything else, if you’ve never truly surrendered all your life to Christ!

I am not asking what denomination you are or if you’ve ever even been in a church. Is Jesus your Lord and Savior? Has He changed your life? Do you follow Him? Are you trusting His blood and His blood alone to cover your sins?

You can search the Bible and you will find it’s no where there that what you’ve done, the good, and the bad, are weighed on some scale to see if you are good enough to have eternal life!

The fact is, there are many who’ve attended church all their lives, who are basically “good, moral people”, who know all the church answers, but don’t know Jesus as Lord!

You may know about Him, the Bible says even the demons believe and shudder (James 2:18) You may even do things for Him (Matt 7:21-23) and still not know Him as Lord and Savior!

And listen, I can’t look at this world and read the prophecies of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation and not wonder if the time left for you to personally answer this question is not coming to a close!

Every prophecy about Jesus birth, death and resurrection were fulfilled! You better know the prophecies about His return will be as well! And As He left this earth He said, “soon! “ “Behold, I’m coming soon!” (Rev 22:7)

Soon friends. Do you know that you know that you KNOW the Only One who can save? Is He Lord of your life?

There is no more important question to settle. Settle it today!
