What kind of VESSEL are you?

It’s a curious passage.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.” (2 Tim 2:20-21)

These vessels are all in God’s house, they all belong to the Master, but some are more useful, even more valuable to the advancing of the kingdom, because of their diligence to make themselves useful to the Master (2 Tim 2:21).

Christian, we are to be active participants in our own sanctification. We should not be passive in this.

So what kind of vessel are you?

Our desire should be to know Jesus more and more each day, to surrender to Him more fully, to cleanse ourselves from all unrighteousness, so that His light will shine in and through us.

Our life in Christ should influence everything we ever do. It is not to be separated or compartmentalized. It should be very evident.

In fact, if our love for Jesus never rolls off our tongue, we need to wonder if it’s truly in our hearts.

What’s more, we are to be “sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” (2 Tim 2:21)

We are to “flee also youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart”.(2 Tim 2:22)

Pursue these good things in fellowship with others who are pursuing these good things.

So, the question is, “Are you?”

Is your heart set on the things of God or on fleeting, temporary things?

What truly excites and motivates you?

Have you asked God to help you want what He wants? ✅That’s a great thing to do!

Oh friend, it is far from easy, but the greatest purpose you can have is to live to serve the Risen Savior!

Yes, let’s diligently, daily, purposefully live with the goal to be “sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work” and hang out with others who have the same goal.

Because when we really think about it, we who have been bought with the greatest of price, who have been given eternal life, we have so very much to be thankful for and so many reasons to live to serve the Risen Savior!

ALL to Jesus, I surrender!
ALL to Him, I truly owe!
