There’s that word, “all”.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart” (Prov 3:5)
But honestly, isn’t it enough to trust in the Lord with MOST of my heart?
Can’t I trust the Lord, and the government, and my bank account, and my health, and ……
Does “all” really mean, “all”?
Isn’t it okay, to say I need “Jesus plus coffee”, or plus a romantic husband, or plus happy kids? Or this election to go the way I think it should? 😳
Just between us, isn’t it okay to trust what I can see, and feel, and hold, just a little bit more than an invisible God?
We church people might never say it out loud- but, if we are honest, we may not be really trusting in the Lord with ALL our hearts.
Maybe that’s why our shaky world keeps shaking us up so much.
But God tells us, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Prov 3:5-6)
and just before that, God tells us how to do this—
“My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.
Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.” (Prov 3:1-4)
As we lean not on our own understanding or the government, or coffee, or our human relationships but God… AND in all our ways acknowledge Him, by seeking the truth of His Word daily, He will direct our steps to obey Him and walk in peace.
We will know what to do, what to think,and we will find health for our flesh and strength for our bones (Prov 3:8 says so!)
We will find strength to stand steady, leaning on the Rock who cannot be shaken, and trusting Him with all our hearts!
That’s good stuff! ❤️
Maybe that’s why someone once said—
FAITH =
Forsaking
All
I
Trust
Him!
Allyourheart
faith
May the God who answers prayers, help us all to trust Him more! May those who don’t know Him be drawn to Him because of the peace they see in us!
