Worried about these times we are living?

Years ago, the world looked scary to me. Maybe not as scary as it seems right now; but, still, I was worried.

My kids were little, and I worried about them growing up in this hard world.

I asked my friend, and mentor, Karen, what I should do.

Though she’s gone home to be with the Lord, I suspect her answer would be the same if I were able to ask her right now— “prepare spiritually”.

“More than anything else”, she said,” put on your spiritual armor. Help your kids put it on. “(Eph 6:10-18)

“And be prepared to give an answer for the hope you have.” (1 Pet 3:15)

The first part of that verse says, “in your hearts sanctify him as Lord”.

Friends, more than ever, let’s keep first things first and follow the Lord in all our ways!

Let’s stay connected to the Source of our strength.

In all our ways, let’s ask Him to make our paths straight. (Prov 3:5-6)

Let’s guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:7)

Without Him, we are subject to “stinking thinking” as one pastor used to say!

Let’s remember, even if we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we should fear no evil, for His rod and staff will comfort us. (Psalm 23:4)

He is the good shepherd Who will never lead His sheep astray.

But we need to know His voice and follow Him above all else —culture, country and through the chaos. (John 10:27)

For this is not our home, we are aliens and strangers here, and citizens of Heaven. (Eph 2:19)

So today, let’s spend time in the Word—Gods Word. It’s so much better than my words or even my wise friend Karen’s.

Let’s follow His ways above all.

Let’s ask Him to guard our hearts and minds in Him and give us peace. (Phil 4:7)

Let’s teach our kids to stand on Biblical truth and love our neighbors.

And let’s take one day at a time. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own. (Matt 6:34)

But victory belongs to our King! The battle is already won! (Rev 12:10)
