The REAL World Changers

There is so much virtue-signaling
“wokeness” in our culture right now.

Suddenly, it’s as if we are trying to outdo each other pontificating about our advanced understanding of the evils of human nature.

We post about how well we “get it”, but the ones who truly seem to “get it” don’t seem to be saying that they do.

They are just doing. They are loving others in word AND deed. And most of them have been doing so for a long time.

They are the real world-changers. It’s not the protestors, the tweeters or the celebrities.

It’s not the ones who stand on the stages but the ones who serve on the sidelines who make a real difference.

For more than focusing on what others should be saying and thinking, these world-changers realized THEIR OWN brokenness and found healing and hope in the love of Christ.

They have left all they “had” to follow Christ…sometimes figuratively and sometimes literally.

As Peter exclaimed in Luke 18:28, those God uses have also “left” all they counted on more than Jesus to bring the hope —things like politics, money, and culture.

They want others to know real hope comes from following Christ.

These servants don’t walk in their own strength but draw from the well of His Living Water.

They daily wash their prone-to-wander hearts with the Word, and the love of Christ just overflows into the lives of those around them.

They aren’t looking for the praise of men -they just want others to taste and see true goodness.

And the funny thing is, they are not only not virtually signaling or posting for the world to see, these world changers don’t even seem to know the amazing effect they are having because they just love Jesus and love people.

Yes, as they love Jesus, they love others.

They know it’s not them, but God through them, that ever results in true life change and a better world.

When I deliberately remember Jesus laid down everything for me…it is only then that I can pick up His strength to surrender again the fleeting comforts and my earthly dreams for MUCH better eternal ones.

It is a daily surrender to let go and trust God to use even hard things for good.

But it’s a surrender that always comes with rivers of peace.

How I love this song and the truth in it…

“Letting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet
Every moment of my wandering
Never changes what You see
I try to win this war
I confess, my hands are weary, I need Your rest
Mighty warrior, king of the fight
No matter what I face You’re by my side
When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
Truth is, You know what tomorrow brings
There’s not a day ahead You have not seen
So let all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less
When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
I will trust in You
You are my strength and comfort
You are my steady hand
You are my firm foudation
The rock on which I stand
Your ways are always higher
Your plans are always good
There’s not a place where I’ll go
You’ve not already stood
When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
I will trust in You
I will trust in You
I will trust in You
I will trust in You”
