Enemies of God were at church on Easter.

There were many enemies of God at churches all over the world on Easter Sunday.

They dressed the part, smiled in the photos, but many left the same way they came in —enemies of God.

It may sound harsh, but Jesus, Himself, described these enemies when He told of the Parable of the Ten Minas (Luke 19:11-27).

Jesus said His enemies are those “who did not want me to reign over them” (Luke 19:27).

That’s sobering and terrifying as Jesus (yes Jesus) goes on to say, “slay them before me”.

It matters not if you attended an Easter service, or even if you are in church every single Sunday. The question is,” Is Jesus truly Lord of all of your life?”

Has there been a time in your life where you have surrendered all you know of you to all you know of Him?

Or are you at risk of hearing these terrifying words from Jesus one day—“depart from Me, I never knew you.” ?

Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matt 7:21-23)

The key word here is “practice”. We all “step” in sin, but if you can walk in what the Bible calls sin, as practice or a habit, because you don’t want Jesus to reign over you, you are an enemy of God.

I know that’s not popular to say, but I am not here for that. I’m saying this because history and creation all point to the truth of the Bible. Jesus lived and died and He will come again. I believe the time is short and the consequences are huge.

Is Jesus Lord of your life?
