Do you notice it too? So many I know, who have been on the front lines for the faith are discouraged, and distracted, and some are even deceived by sin right now.
Why would I be surprised that now,
when the world seems as scary and as crazy as I’ve seen it in my lifetime, that the evil one would turn up the guns at those who have sought to serve the Lord and make the gospel known?
I feel it in my own life. I’m tempted to give in to fear, exhaustion and frustration.
Once again, I’m a needy beggar searching for rivers of peace in the storms of this life, praying for the strength to continue to be about my Father’s business.
I am fighting to hold on to truth and remember the God MOST High. The beginning and the end. The ONLY hope of nations, and all that concerns me. The One who defeated death and sin.
Oh God, I want to hear Your precious voice again. I need You to guide my heart and direct my steps. Again.
And I remember, when the storms of this life have found me fearful, in my most faithless, worry-filled moments, God has continued to pour out His grace.
He has been faithful and good, because that is who He is, and forever will be.
He will continue to be the steady in the storm, the peace like a river, the hope everlasting.
But my flesh-filled mind needs to remember that every day. This day.
His precious, living Word reminds me as we face fearful things in our world, the same steadfast biblical principles that were true before, are still completely true today.
God’s Word will not return void! He will speak, and comfort, and guide as we read His Word, and pray, and listen.
Yes, the world looks scary. We are concerned for our families. We are weary. Some have fallen to the schemes of the evil one, but none of this has taken God by surprise.
He is doing what He said He would do. He is fulfilling His prophecies.
He has not left us! He is not wringing His Hands in Heaven.
He is still on the throne.
His children are still the apple of His eye. He is still our shelter. The righteous run to Him and are still safe.
He is still forgives sin and picks up the broken and the hurting.
His plans for us are still exceedingly better than we could ask or imagine.
Oh friend, let’s keep our eyes on Him! May our lips keep telling of Him.
His Kingdom is still powerfully advancing.
And now, more than ever, as our world looks for answers may they see Him in us!
For His is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever!
Don’t just take my word for it, read His. It’s so much better—
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory”. (Eph 1: 3-14)
Oh Praise Him!
