Speak the truth, if you love others.

Let’s be careful to walk in truth, as defined by the Bible. Let’s understand there is no “my truth” and “your truth.”

Let’s be bold enough to say this because we trust God more than we trust ourselves.

Let’s understand the danger of the popular phrase -“I’m so happy you found your truth”.

These words should never be spoken from the mouth of a Christian.

Truth is not relative.

God forbid that we tell anyone, anywhere, about any subject, that they can find their own personal truth and be happy walking in anything God calls sin.

A while back, I observed a confused young man proclaim his new-found “identity” on social media. The lifestyle he was proclaiming to be so happy about is clearly called sin by God in His Word.

But then, I read comment after comment from young adults who had grown up in Christian families, who pack the pews on Sunday and the coffee house church socials, telling this confused soul that they were “happy he had found his truth.”

God forbid that, in our desire to love others, we encourage what God calls sin!

And parents, we can’t turn a blind eye to this when it comes to our kids and their choices to live in unholy relationships just because we love them and want them to be near us.

Some of you are literally making the bed for your adult children to sin, and I’m talking about sinful heterosexual relationships here too.

As one young woman I know put it, “we are loving them right to Hell”. And she’s right!

God’s way is always better. Every other way is the way of destruction.

Those who walk in disobedience will never find lasting peace! We can trust God on this.

In fact, God will give them over to their debased minds. And listen, NOT ONLY THEM, not only those who practice such things, but the Bible also says those who APPROVE of those who practice such things will be given over to debased minds! (Go read Rom 1:28-32).

We should understand we are just like the false prophets who “strengthen the hands of the evildoers, so that no one turns back from his wickedness” (Jer 23:10) when we do this.

When you say to someone, “I’m so happy you found your truth”, or “I’m happy that you are happy (in a sinful lifestyle), you are effectively a false prophet, like Jeremiah warns about, who “to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart they say, “No evil shall come upon you.” (Jer 23:17)

God, Himself, says He stands against such false prophets. They are misleading liars.

For those who think they know the Lord and speak for Him should be especially warned. God says, “he who speaks My word, let him speak my word faithfully.” (Jer 23:28)

God does not take lightly those who “pervert the words of the living God” (Jer 23:26).

So let’s all prayerfully, carefully choose our words. Let’s be very careful to not encourage and approve of what God calls sin. Let’s flee the increasing number of speakers and teachers who are compromising in this area, too.

Let’s proclaim truth -God’s truth! Let’s not be ashamed of the gospel for it is the only truth that sets people free and where peace, hope and joy can be found!

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Rom 1:16-17)

Let’s lovingly speak truth snd pray for revival!
