Sometimes, it seems Satan is winning. We’d be dishonest if we didn’t admit, that when we see his “victories”, we can get down.
But hold on!
Our God is greater and He is perfect in taking what the enemy intends for evil and bringing good from it. I’m reminded of this this morning.
In his letter to the Thessalonians , Paul says, “But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire. Therefore, we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us. “ (1 Thess 2:17-18)
Does this not seem strange? God allowed Satan to hinder Paul, again and again?
What?
Couldn’t God call down a legion of angels at any moment?
Yes! Of course, He could!
But God had another plan.
A BETTER plan.
Because Paul could not go to them in person, he wrote a letter. This letter that we now hold in our hands.
This very letter, we are studying, is God’s BETTER plan. He has used it to encourage and guide His children for thousands of years.
Friend, it can seem like the enemy is getting a victory, but Paul will tell us, in another letter he wrote, that our God is working all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Rom 8:28).
God’s purposes will not fail!
Not ever!
We may fail. We may fall. But God, He never will.
So, if you are going through a hard thing; if the enemy seems to be winning, hold tighter to God!
Don’t pull away from Him!
He is at work now bringing good from hard things. No power of hell, no scheme of man can thwart God’s purposes.
Let’s keep our eyes on Him. Let’s remember He will give us just what we need when we need it.
Beautifully written! Truth always triumphs! Thank you for being that beacon of truth in this dark time in our country. Praying for you.
