I’ve never seen anything quite like our world right now. It’s easy to feel discouraged, isn’t it?
I don’t know if these hard days will get harder…but they could.
For Christians, as we approach the End of Days, things will get harder. God’s Word tells us, “The love of many will grow cold”.
Matthew 24 tells us “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (9-14)
Many will be deceived and hate one another. Many will follow false ideologies.
Many will turn from Jesus to worldly forms of “salvation”.
They will look for hope where hope does not last—this world.
BUT! Remember the words of Jesus in Luke 18:27, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
Yes these are hard days, maybe approaching the End of Days—many will hate each other, lawlessness may increase but DESPITE IT ALL , God’s Kingdom is still powerfully advancing!
Because NOTHING is impossible for God, we can also know this is also true— “And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt 24:14)
But how is it proclaimed? It is proclaimed through our lives and our lips!
When the world seems the craziest, when wrong is right and right is wrong, when our culture tries to shut out truth as never before, Gods people need to boldly proclaim where true hope is found!
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” (Rom 10:9-15)
Oh friend, preach the good news! For it is GOOD NEWS! Hope is found nowhere else!
