Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde is the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.

She was given a great honor yesterday, a chance to speak truth and unify America around a Christian message. Instead of using her platform to elevate God and His ways, and the blessings that come when individuals and countries follow Biblical principles, she lectured our leaders while calling wrong things right.

I believe as a country, a church and as people, we are being deceived by false prophets, such as Budde, speaking empty oracles.

The Prophet Jeremiah talks of false prophets and empty oracles.

He says the false prophets “walk in lies and strengthen the hands of evildoers so that no one turns back from his wickedness” (23:14).

This is exactly what Bishop Budde was doing.

Jeremiah goes on to say of the false prophets ,”They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the Lord,” (23:16)…

Jeremiah says, the false prophets “continually say to those who despise me, the LORD has said, “You shall have peace” and to everyone who walks to the dictates of his own heart, “No evil shall come upon you.” (23:17)

Our world today, and false prophets like Bishop Budde, promote this as they forsake truth, call wrong things right, and embrace woke ideology—

“Love is love.”

“You will be happy when you find your truth.”

But the truth is, when we walk in the dictates of our own hearts, and do what feels right, but is not in alignment with the ways of God, there is no peace to be had and we should expect evil to come upon us—as individuals and as a country.

But those who truly care about others will speak truth, based on the ways of God, and will seek to turn us back from our wickedness —the things God defines as sin.

For the truth is… “there is a way that seems right to a man but it’s end is the way of death” (Prov 14:12).

Those who love us, those who love this country, the church and other people, will want us to walk away from evil and walk in truth… for that’s where life and peace are found. (Rom 8:6).

And that is what I want for those I love. And I have to believe many of you do as well.

So will you join me? Will you be a voice, unlike Budde, that encourages others to stand on Biblical truth and walk in real peace and freedom?
