Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! 1 Chron 16:34

This Thanksgiving, those words are especially meaningful as I miss my sweet Daddy on our first Thanksgiving without him.

How, my father, who lived a life full of gratitude, loved to gather with family and give thanks.

I won’t lie, I’m struggling to hold back the tears as I miss him so very much.

But God.
Because of God,
I can give thanks.

Because God’s steadfast love endures forever—

I can forever
give thanks,
knowing every tear we cry,
this side of Heaven,
is
only
ever
temporary.

For one day,
one glorious day,
I will see my daddy again.

It is certain, because my Good Father defeated death and is making all things new!

Oh friends, we have so much to be thankful for. May we pause and soak those blessings in today. Let’s don’t take one for granted.

And if, like our family, this year Thanksgiving includes tears, because of Jesus, ONLY because of Jesus,
we can still give abundant thanks!
