Do you sense evil among us? Have you watched ministry leaders fall to sin? Need some hope?

Do you sense evil among us? Does it seem more evident than ever?

Powerful forces of darkness seem to have wielded great control of our entertainment, government, and education systems while we watch ministry leader, after ministry leader, fall to sin.

It’s all incredibly disheartening —especially as we think about our kids and grandkids.

But God.
But God.

We, who call the Lord our Savior, can look away from the vile, evil, sad things in this world and look to God for hope!

I’m not saying we bury our heads in the sand and cease trying to be salt and light to the lost world among us.

But I am saying we have to discipline ourselves to deliberately, daily, get in the Word and fellowship with other believers as often as, or even more than, we turn on the news or get on social media.

Friends, our shaky knees and troubled worried hearts need to be constantly reminded that the all good King of Kings is still powerfully in control!

Thank God, He is still on the throne!
Thank God that every word of hope in the Bible is still completely true.

God wrote those words for us to remember in days just like this—

Words like “I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them”. (Psalm 34:4-7)

Friend, we are to fear God —we are to reverentially fear HIM alone, and as we do, all the other scary things in this world lose their power over us.

Let’s remember, our Father is the Holy of Holies, The Most High God of whom Isaiah said—

“I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King,the Lord Almighty.” (Isa 6:1-5)

And our God is not only Holy and Mighty, He is FAITHFUL!

As we pause and remember, God’s faithfulness to us before in our times of fear, we can walk forward in confidence —

Yes!

“I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread”. (Psalm 37:25)

How many of our children have begged for bread?

Oh friend—
“..are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Thro’ death into life everlasting,
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion–
For more than conqu’rors we are!

His Word shall not fail you–He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell! (Lemmel)

May we remember whom we believe, think about His promises, then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!
