How many celebrate Christmas and miss true HOPE?

How many celebrate the birth of Christ, but still, hold tight to their sin instead of true hope?

Of friend, as I look at this world, at the frailty of life highlighted by this pandemic, as I read prophecy, and as I remember the words of our Savior, “ I am coming quickly ”(Rev 22:20),—I can’t help but have a heavy heart for those who continue to walk in sin with no real intention of fleeing it.

I see no evidence in Scripture to cause me to believe those who can do this are saved. I see just the opposite.

Our Lord said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matt 16:24-26)

I am truly fearful for those who are willing to indulge themselves, and make no true effort to walk away from sin and the people and places where their sin is acceptable and celebrated.

Our God is a jealous God (Ex 34:14) and cautions us to worship no other gods before Him. This includes the god of self. God clearly states we cannot serve two masters (Matt 6:24) and that one day, many who thought they knew Him will hear the horrifying words, “Depart from me I never knew you” (Matt 7:24).

It is indeed a fearful thing to fall in to the hands of an angry God. Those words are not mine but are scripture —

“For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Heb 10:26-31)

God is loving, but He is also holy; and He is coming again to judge the living and the dead. (Rev 20:12-13)

When will that be? I don’t know, but you would be a fool to think you can know and have time to play in sin.

In fact, the Bible says, “The Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”. (Matt 12:40)

Oh friend, my heart is heavy for those who know the will of the Father but do not do it.

For one day, the One whom came as a baby will return as a King. There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth.

But “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. “(Rev 21:27)

Time is short. Who of us can guarantee our next breath. The consequences are huge. Is Jesus Lord of your life?
